child modeling Logo development for a U.S. federal government-funded education program called National Institute on Intensive Intervention. When a child falls behind in school, often it is the result of learning and/or behavioral disabilities. The term \"intervention,\" as it applies to education, is the process of targeting these special-needs children, and employing individualized teaching methods that have been proven to elicit achievement results. These intervention methods are arranged in a 3-tier model. Tier 1 methods are school-wide interventions, to which 80-90% of special-needs children respond. For the 5-10% that don\'t respond to Tier 1 methods, Tier 2 methods are employed, which involve more specialized and targeted interventions. Yet, there are children who still don\'t respond to even Tier 2 methods. These children represent 1-5% of special-needs cases, and require individualized, one-on-one, intensive interventions. This nationally-funded program, the first of its kind, focuses on those cases, and provides invaluable resources and tools for educators to help this very select group of special-needs learners succeed in school. ________________________________________ Thumbnail stage. Exploring the concept of enveloping hands to suggest the nurturing, specialized care of interventionists, and also how they form the 3 tiers of the 3-tier RTI model. Also exploring concept of triumphantly-posed character contained within an A/upward arrow shape, suggesting achievement against insurmountable odds.
